| The mouth-organ and the accordion have found it
difficult to gain acceptance in folk-music circles: fiddlers have
displayed a great aversion towards the accordion in particular. The
accordion, relatively loud and easy to play, became a serious
competitor to the fiddle as a supplier of dance music around the
turn of the century. The two mouth-organists from Jämtland (5 a-b) have skilfully adapted traditional fiddle tunes to the more limited mouth-organ. |
