| The polska is, in spite of its name (which means
“Polish”) the most typical Swedish dance and type of tune. Short songs sung to polska tunes (3/4-time) are usually called polska songs. The texts are usually satirical, but can consist of anything at all from sheer nonsense to small glimpses of everyday life. |
