Hot Rod is a totally electrified group with guitars and keyboards. This band has a fairly wide repertory from afro jazz to dance standards. They were planning to record a CD with mainly their own compositions. Here are some excerpts from our interview with them:
We do allround music. Play copyrights and own compositions.

Out of what we listen we create our own music. We have an afro feeling with a Western beat.

Basically all the songs are love songs. We also talk about African Culture, the way we live.

Hot Rod's members are Mike Tawfique (manager), Bel Fabia (lead guitar + vocal), Sadi (bass guitar + vocal), Amon Simon (keyboard + vocal), Jean Hussen (drum + vocal), Mary (lead vocal) and Ivorn (vocal).

Hot Rod often mix rap sections into standard hits. Here is a little sample of the Hot Rod rap style (.wav format 730 kB) in the tune Keep on keeping on. The sample is from a video recording we made at a club gig.
